   I grew up surrounded my forest and now I live in LA so I try to surround myself with as many plants as possible. Unfortunately, I’ve been unlucky with having decent lighting and it was showing with my plants. I hung a few of these around and they just brought all my plants to life and I never have any trouble with any of them! It doesn’t seem to matter if it’s low-light plants like Dracaena or full-light plants like chili peppers! They all share the same timer and they all thrive! I also don’t think its too glaring or gross looking like some of these other grow lights (typically giving off a purple/red glow). It’s a nice clear daylight color. And, best part, being LED it hardly gives off any warmth and doesn’t even make a dent on my electric bill (I have them on 12 hour automatic timers).

   I was shocked when my Phalaenopsis orchid, which had two buds remaining to open, started blooming five days after I cranked this up and turned it on. I noticed the day before yesterday that apparently the bud had started to swell; it opened this morning.

   Additionally for years and years and years I have tried to grow gardenias. I have two blooms on my current plants. The room is the right temperature, and now that I have the light, I’m keeping my fingers crossed they continue to bloom.

   I never expected this kind of result, especially so quickly. I have ordered two more and plan to put them in my living room next to two macho ferns, which have declined significantly over the winter.

   UPDATE: 1 month of use & my Bougainvillea is now blooming as if it were a poinsettia with the light & bit of Knox gelatin! I highly recommend this light, will update again IF that changes.

   I’ll update after my Bougainvillea has been under it a few weeks, but for now, I’m pleased with this light! While bright white, from across the room, the light has a pink/purple tint. As I haven’t felt ‘heat’, I prefer not to rate that, and will update if needed! So far, so good, as my bougainvillea is doing OK under it; however, I changed its dirt right before I brought it in, and it’s still adjusting to lower light than the SW exposure it enjoys in the summer, so it’ll take a few weeks to see how or if it benefits! IF you’re on the fence, if I needed another, I’d buy another one of these, and had NO problem screwing it into the ‘arm’ used for reading on my floor lamp. I thought it may’ve been used/returned given the poor tape job, (see pics), it wasn’t, nor is there any cosmetic damages as others have reported.

    Not truly full spectrum white light. I have used this for a few days now on a darker are of my living room because all of our walls are black and do not reflect light well for the plants. I will say that the light cascades nicely to other ares.

    I know they work well in the winter (live in a northern state with <10 hours of daylight in the winter) because my plants start to lean towards them (as opposed to the direction of the sun. My little garden is now thriving. I have them plugged into an automatic switch and are on 13 hours a day and I wouldn’t change anything. I have 2, for the different levels of my shelves, and they fit great inside my lamp (which has bendy necks for easy redirection).

    I can’t speak for the effectiveness of this bulb, one because I just got it and two because I don’t know if I will use it. It’s marketed as a natural white light but that’s a flat lie… it’s pink. The light is pink. The room it’s in is now glowing pink. I bought this one specifically because it said it was natural white glow and the details show pics of it as if it’s natural white. So now I’m mad because I have to either buy a different brand or deal with my white dining room now being pink!

    Update: I have been using the light for a few weeks and have seen an increase in the health of my plants which is great. The pink is still annoying, but at least it’s working.
