Full transparency, I have not used this light yet on any plants but I plan to in the winter months. I got this light for my plants that I bring inside during cold weather months so I haven’t officially tried it on them yet. I did unbox the product and plug it in though. The light appears to be well-made and produces a good amount of light. It seems to be just what I will need and I am happy with it.

At least it powers on and makes light.. You definitely get what you pay for (i.e. not much) The reflective shroud is thin and was folded up down in the bottom of the box. You have to install it yourself and it will never look nearly as nice as the one in the listing photos. The power supply is much smaller than the one depicted in the photos too (physically) and only puts out about 33W max (30-60v @ 550mA). I’m fairly sure this light is dangerously under-powered. It really does have 256 LEDs, but they are sharing that tiny bit of power. When I look at other lights that claim similar specs, with similar diode layouts, they come with 100-150W power supplies. I can find very similar LED light boards without the power supply and they say they need 100W+ PSUs… Something is weird here, and potentially very wrong.. Probably won’t overheat because the Power supply is only 1/3rd what it should be for this many LEDs.. 256 LEDs sharing 33W = 0.12W/ea. There is just no way this thing puts out the light it says it does. It’s not bright, but it really should be nearly blinding for the specs it advertises. A 33W led is maybe equivalent to about 150-200W of incandescent light. Nowhere close to 1000W equivalent. Don’t buy this.

I’m using this in my setup for starting my tomato, pepper, and basil plants indoors and it has been working great. It is lightweight and was easy to hook up. It provides a nice amount of light for the size and my seedlings have been responding very well to it.
I like LED board units like this because they run significantly cooler than bulbs so you can drop them down closer to the plants without worrying too much about them. This unit’s board runs at about 85 degrees F (which is about the same as the other similar units I have) whereas my bulbs are anywhere from 110 to 130.
The only downside to it is that it is very cheaply made. It is a simple metal plate with LEDs all over it, a thin piece of rubber around it (to take away the sharp edges), and a cord attached to the back of it. It’s fine for now but once the plants go outside and I pack away my indoor grow gear for the year I’ll have to make sure I wrap this thing up somehow before putting it in a tote.

The grow light glows with an enchanting brilliance, casting a luminous spell that dances gracefully within the confines of the grow tent. It is a treasure, a beacon of light and hope, a testament to the beauty of wise investment.
