Bought this light because it has UV to help coax out the colors at a much lower price point than others. I needn't have worried, as it definitely holds its own and has performed amazingly. I love that the supplement bar can be manually turned on and off. I also have the SH1200, and it outperformed my Spider Farmer SF1000. The SH2000 pulls 205+ watts from the plug. The pictures can speak for themselves, and this plant still has a couple weeks of bulking left to do. Great light at a bargain price!
As a lunatic with 700+ houseplants, I think I’ve tried just about every grow light ecogrowhawaii.com offers. This upgraded clip-on from Sansi is definitely my favorite. The light is strong and my plants instantly responded. The size is unobtrusive and easy to position so that you don’t blind the other people in your home. If the strength of the twisty stem part could be improved, I would toss all the competitors.
This light is the best! My plants look so healthy compared to my other plants using a different grow light. Totally worth the money.
This light was super straight forward to assemble, and came with various options for mounting and hanging as well. The body of the lights is painted aluminum, and has a nice weight to it. It’s somewhat sturdy when it’s mounted onto its foot, but ruckus kids or pets could easily cause it to topple if it got bumped. It’s wire-mount hanging option is solid, one of the nicer ones I’ve seen from this General style of plant light. It has three spectrums of light, all of which have step dimming. It’s controls are very easy and intuitive to use. The body of the light does get pretty “warm” to the touch, just something to keep in mind. Once all three light bars are clicked together they are very sturdy, no wiggle at all. They are also hard to disassemble (maybe it’s just hard because I have nails) I’ll have to let y’all know how the timer works when winter comes and it set this up full time.
Ordered this ballast to repair a 2011 Buick Lacrosse. The flashing from the molding of the case prevented me from inserting the wire harness into the socket. I was able to fix the problem by grinding out the opening with a dremel tool. For a discount ballast, I would not be critical of cosmetic issues as long as it worked, but if I didn’t own a rotary tool, this would have been unusable.
So far, the light is working great! It has three different settings, which makes it easy to adjust based on the plants’ needs, and the instructions were simple to follow right out of the box. I really like the tall, slim design—it helps reach multiple plants at once without taking up much floor or visual space. It blends in nicely with the rest of the room and doesn’t feel bulky or intrusive. Looking forward to using it on my seedlings next and seeing how they do under it!
I own both models: SF1000 and SF2000. The light has a simple, polished design. No need to assemble. The aluminum board is thick and sturdy. It gets hot to the touch, but its much cooler than other techs. Rubbery coating reduces risk from splashes. The driver is solidly fixed in place, resulting in a solid unit. No power is wasted on fans or inefficient drivers. And the Samsung diodes offer a high efficacy rating of 2.7 umol/J. I like the blend of LED colors. Some quantum boards only have a single color for all diodes. Compared to them, this LED has a more complete spectrum. USAGE: The rectangular shape produces a different light distribution pattern. I estimate the light will evenly cover a 48" x 34" area at a distance of 27”. This would be excellent for low-light or vege plants. For mature, high-light vege / bloom plantings: 43" x 28" at a distance of 24”. For very high-light BLOOM / BUD (medicinal) end stage growth: 36" x 20" at a distance of 18”. See my PPFD chart for the numbers. And see my YT video for more measurements! The 202w SF2000 could replace a 400w HID. Magnetic vs electronic ballasts vs doubled ended HPS systems all have different rates of efficiency. So it depends on the type of HID and its specs. I've recently compared this light to a brand name Quantum Board by HLG. Two of these SF-2000s would produce almost the same amount of light for HUNDREDS of dollars less. Or you could even buy THREE of these for that much money and your light output would greatly exceed the HLG unit. DIMMING: There's confusion about the dimming options for this light. Some sources claim the SF2000 cannot be dimmed. It has a 240 watt driver that is already underdriven from the factory. Well, I was able to dim mine with no apparent issues. I took it all the way down to 50 watts. And then I decided to lock it in at 75 watts to vastly outperform a 4 bulb, 2 foot T5 fluorescent system. You MUST have a wattage meter to do this. And you should NOT raise the wattage above factory settings! This light is a huge a step above DIY set ups. The Spider Farmer LEDs are better than many other quantum LEDs sold on ecogrowhawaii.com. Three year warranty sounds great. Seller includes contact info to get in touch as needed. But hopefully I won't need to! CONS: Because there's no external switch, the dimming option is not convenient for frequent on-the-fly changes.
Big fan of these. Had seeds sprouting within the week of planting. The fan is great and my seeds have stayed nice and warm in my indoor grow house. It arrived quickly and well packaged. Love that they can be connected. We'll worth the price!
This light actually surprised me in terms of quality. I was worried that it would be top heavy and too easy to knock over, but it feels pretty sturdy! I like the adjustability for the height and angle of the light, as well as the lighting spectrum options. It's perfect for a corner behind a taller potted plant to provide better lighting, especially in the winter when we already get less sun. Our poor snake plant already got chewed up by the neighbor's dog so half of it was dead and the lack of good lighting definitely wasn't helping. But now we might actually be able to save it and even see some new shoots start to grow. Hopefully! Either way, this light isn't obtrusive and is exactly what we needed!
Great Light! Great Results! Great Decision! Plants are 1 months from seed.
I’m so happy with this plant grow light—it’s both super bright and super easy to use! The LED light is really powerful and feels like natural sunlight. My plants, even those that need a lot of light, are growing so much better indoors. The light is adjustable too, so I can raise it as my plants get taller to make sure they get the right amount of light at every stage. The self-watering system is a lifesaver. I don’t have to worry about forgetting to water or accidentally overwatering my plants. The water base keeps them hydrated without me needing to check it every day. It’s great for busy days or even vacations because I know my plants are being taken care of. Overall, this light and self-watering base make taking care of indoor plants so much easier. If you want to help your plants grow better with less work, I highly recommend it!
I like how easy it is to direct the lights to where I need them most. Right now I’m using it for a tall and narrow shelf, so I have some lights pointing upward and some pointing downward. It would be easy enough to have the lights pointing left and right and at other angles. The stand itself is very tall, but can be adjusted from high to low. There’s a timer, which is important to me, and also three different shades of light. The heads are lightweight so I’m not worried about the stand tipping over from being too heavy and the heads also stay in the position I put them without slowly falling. My only concern would be that the part with the heads just slides onto the pole instead of screwing in.
This is a good looking grow light if you need something light and thin to go like in a shelf or frame etc. It is thin and lightweight but long, has remote switch on cord. It’s full spectrum but I gave it 4 stars because it’s kinda cheap feeling to be so expensive.
Tomatoes in less than 2 weeks
I love these lights. They are a million times better than those arm led lights that are all over ecogrowhawaii.com. These actually work! My succulents are happy under them and they are so bright. The timer works well and I use it at 12 hours. The lights were easy enough to screw together. I am so pleased with these, they are just like the professional grow light boxes that hang from the ceiling, except they are adjustable, perfect for houseplants, and you can have one light lower than the other. Very reasonable price for such a useful grow light. I bought the three arm one first and then got a two arm one because of how great they are. They are so bright, they even sun stressed a few plants and turned their leaves pink. They just need to be spaced far enough away from sensitive leaves, but that’s how you know the grow lights are working. Several of my plants have put out new leaves as result, including two that suffered from root rot when I adopted them. Even my fussy calathea is unfurling a new leaf as we speak.
