I was really happy with this light right away! The set up was easy and I felt like the quality was good. However, after using this light every other day for a little over a year and a half it stopped working altogether. Over a good plant light albeit, with a short lifespan.
Great grow lights. Easy to install. We noticed a difference in growth and yield right away. Great to have the “plug & play” with the lights and being able to daisy chain them.
I have ordered other florescent in the past and they always arrived broken, but these were in a cardboard tube, wrapped in bubble wrap and the tube was in a box. Although the tube of was loose in the box, it should have been secured in the box with peanuts or bubble wrap, all arrived safe and put four right to work. I bought these for my kitchen and not to grow anything. It might be me, but the color these lights emit does not seem correct to my eyes and 5000k LED light I have over my sink seems to be whiter as seen in the pictures. Very little change when I take the diffusers off the light fixture; they are brighter, but not as white. These seem to give off a tint other than white, maybe a green or blue, and I guess I am going to have to live with that until I buy some LED bulbs to replace these. Just got them so how long they will last is unknown, but when I first turned them on I left them on for 12 hour straight. Changed my mind and cannot deal with the green tint of my kitchen so going with new light fixtures with LED. Cannot stand the green look of my kitchen.
Easy to assemble. Sturdy enough. Lights work great!! Love them and wish I had found these sooner!
I bought this big mulitpack after buying a couple of them a year ago because I LOVE them. Super easy to use, dependable timer & surprisingly enough light to be effective. Not sure if it's product intended but the light gives off a good amount of warmth (not scary or dangerous hot). My plants love it!
After one month of use. Edit: the company sent me a brand new light after seeing my video review of the dead LED diodes. They did not charge me for it and they did not require I send back the old light. They sent me a brand new light out of sheer courtesy. In my of the new light, you can see 4 LED diodes that aren’t working. Since they don’t look like random diodes, I’m assuming a faulty wiring for said diodes. Even though the diodes are not working, the fact that they sent me a new light was just awesome of them. PS: I did not ask for a new light. They sent it to me on their own accord. So I changed my review from 2 stars to 4 stars.
I purchased four sets of these lights for a newly built greenhouse and they work quite nicely! Easy to set up and appear to be fairly well built. I initially bought two sets and after seeing them and setting them up, I ordered two more sets. They seem to work perfectly and the plants in the greenhouse are thriving! The included photos show the lights installed on the metal racks and a set mounted on an adjustable frame I built. Would and may buy again. Thanks for reading.
Hello Growers, Purchased the SP-150 for a 27x27x63 Mars-hydro tent. The tent holds three five-gallon pots with a little wiggle room for humidifier, but I opted for three 3-gallon aerated pots. This leaves plenty of room for fans, a DIY co2 generator and the humidifier. Legal in my state for medical card holders. Shortly after purchasing i received an email from the seller with tips for light distance during various stages and optimal temp/RH which was nice, but I’d assume anyone buying these items already knows this information, but I digress good information and appreciate the follow up. I rarely leave feedback on items unless I’m thrilled with the device. I paid full price and was not provided a discount of any type for my opinions. MarsHydro lights are top shelf quality and this light although smaller than my last unit has better par and pfid measurements. I probably could have gotten the sp250, but my concern was size in the tent and would it be touching the mylar. My plants are happier now than prior and I would recommend MarsHydro gear to anyone interested. Recently switched from an automated Grow device (grobo) which was less than advertised and really poor lighting. In a few weeks I’ll make a YouTube video of this setup. In the meantime I pulled a couple of pics and some footage from the IP camera inside the Mars tent. Items I purchased (from ecogrowhawaii.com) Mars Hydro SP-150 Mars hydro tent (27x27x63) 5 x 3gallon aerated bags A timer switch set for 18/6 (you can go 20/4 photo all the way to flower if you choose) Massive bag of FoxFarms super soil (opted for soil, but next grow I may flip back to DWC or rDWc 4 small adjustable 6in fans that clip onto the side bars Carbon filter with fan, switch w/ sensor and venting tube along with some ducting tape. Full lineup of advanced nutrients including advanced feeding (not just the basic) My only complaint which really isn’t a complaint more so feedback would be the lack of an entry point near the bottom half of the tent for fresh air input. The tent has Velcro with mesh, but no intake hole other than the one used for power cables. The top has an easy outage for getting the heat out ect The light itself is surprisingly cooler than expected. Upon unboxing I assumed the SP-150 would have put off a lot of heat, but truth be told the light merely raised the tents temps a few degrees. Having the fans setup on all four vertical poles at 1 foot intervals really helps push the air around and ultimately out of the tent. Even added a cheapo IP camera to monitor without opening (video uploaded). Two pots without plants had seeds added the day before and have already popped. The single plant with 5 nodes is only 2 weeks into grow, so it’s really taking advantage of the strong light and optimal grow space! All in all I’m happy so far with my purchase of about 2 weeks now. I fully recommend mars hydro products for all of your growing needs seed to smoke. I’m growing some top quality InHouse Genetics and some MephistoGentics. My next will be a few months from now, but 5th Element and some other InHouse seeds. Mars product grades Shipping - A+ Packaging - A+ Quality - A- Longevity - TBD Thank you MarsHydro -James L
I’ve been using this on my monstera and the growth difference is amazing! The light is sleek, easy to set up, and gives off the perfect spectrum for healthy plant growth. My monstera looks fuller and happier since I started using it. Great for low-light areas—definitely worth it!
These are adorable! If been looking for something cute and functional to help get some of my African violets to straighten up and I think these are going to be great. I have a few big, amazing east facing windows that my plants absolutely love. However, there only do much prime real estate and a few of my friends are trying to stretch a little to far to get that good light. With these hangers and grow lights, I can confidently relocate some of my floral friends to the burbs! The macrame design is cute, sturdy, and versatile. Some of the things I love: 1. You can fit different sized and shaped pots petty easily. 2. The seller includes S hooks, heavy duty white ceiling hooks, cable ties, and adhesive cord stays to keep everything neat and in place. They really give you everything you need to get these up and going. 3. The light is fully adjustable! You can choose the warmth and the brightness. It also has a 3, 9, &12 hr timer! The one thing I wish was included with these is the option to go wireless because I just don't like the look of cords and cables, no matter how neat. It would be great if we were able to charge the lights and operate by remote. Aside from that, I absolutely love these!
If you’re on a budget but don’t want to sacrifice on power, I suggest you take a look at this 100W grow light from LUYIMIN. It’s a no frills package, with just the bare necessities that are required for full-spectrum illumination. The light has a quantum board-like design with a 24 x 15 array of LEDs. Including warm white, cool white, red, blue, and a few IR and UV for good measure. It’s a very well thought out collection of diodes that will most assuredly provide full spectrum energy for your plants. The thin, lightweight aluminum board dissipates heat reasonably well, but you’ll want to be careful after it’s been on for a few hours. The driver is one I’ve not seen before, and I can barely make out the print on top. No matter, there’s very little information on top to begin with. The light weighs a scant 1lb, 9oz, making it one of the lightest grow lights I’ve ever seen. Especially one that puts out 100W. And that is the actual power, I confirmed (see pics). Being so light, suspending it from a light stand is absolutely no problem. I have several that are designed for reptiles lamps, and they all can handle 1.5lbs easily. To get an idea of the PAR output, I measured the PPFD at 12-inches and 20-inches using a quantum PAR meter. The values are below: PPFD 12-inches 505 umol/m2/s PPFD 20-inches 220 umol/m2/s As much as I like this light, I really wish it had a dimmer. I might try to patch one in, but it may not be compatible with the driver. I suspect the reason it was excluded was cost. And I get it, if the goal was no-frills, they’ve succeeded in a big way. Although the light does not come with a warranty, LUYIMIN markets several grow lights, and most have 4-star or better ratings on ecogrowhawaii.com. This suggests they have a good track record. So here’s my summary: ✅ ADVANTAGES ✅ ✔︎ 100W of real power. ✔︎ Good PAR/PPFD output . Core PAR coverage of around 2-3 sq ft. ✔︎ Generous 24 x 15 array of LEDs that cover the color spectrum. ✔︎ Lightweight. Can be easily suspended from a light stand. ✔︎ Low Cost. ❗️LIMITATIONS❗️ ✔︎ No dimmer. ✔︎ Unknown durability, no warranty. RECOMMENDATION: I'm happy to recommend this grow light because the ADVANTAGES are far more compelling than the few LIMITATIONS. Bottom line, it's a good buy, even a value buy, at the current price of $39.99. And it should be able to provide sufficient PAR-quality illumination for a 2-3 sq ft area. Maybe even a tad more if the plants can tolerate lower PPFD values. Good Luck!
These are fantastic grow lights! I ordered one of these about 6 months ago. When I went to put it together, I realized the bottom bolt was missing so I could not tighten the post to the base, and it just flopped over. So, I asked for an exchange and the seller sent me one very quickly. The replacement had the correct bolt, so I was happy with the service from the seller. However, in the time I ordered the first light, got time to assemble it a few weeks later, discovered the bolt, requested a new one, and got the new one - my plant plans for this light had changed. The life of a plant lover :) In between that time, I had also ordered a small ladder shelf (found on ecogrowhawaii.com) to accommodate more plants in a small space. With my new shelf, I decided to use these lights without the base and attach them to the shelf undersides with super strong double-sided tape. It worked beautifully so I kept the first and second light and am using each with no base. Lol, the irony, but it worked out perfectly. The shelf has 14" of space between shelves so my plants are super close to the lights. I've actually had a couple plants that I had to switch around because it was too intense, but that's not any fault of the light - I am putting my plants very close. The happiest ones so far are my tradescantias - they have gone from wimpy color to intense color and love this spot. The lights are attached to the middle two shelves in my pic. (The bottom one is a different light I already had). The tradescantia pics are my super happy pinked up one and a jar of cuttings I took before moving the plant under this light. The cuttings are still in the spot I moved the tradescantia from, and the color difference is amazing! I've since swapped the lipstick plant with another tradescantia variety, and both are super happy now. Anyway, I've been using both daily with the timer function and I am very happy with these lights. The timer so far has worked perfectly and is super easy to set. The lights do get a little warm but not enough to make me worry. The housing seems built to handle it. I think the fact that these lights can be used on a stand or hanging (they provide little wire hooks for hanging), or double-sided tape like I did makes them a great choice that will fit the needs of many indoor plant lovers.
This grow light was given to me free of charge to evaluate for Vine. As someone who has various types of grow lights, this is one of my favorites. One feature this grow lights had is the ability to shine on plants that are short & tall. Tall lights need light hitting the bottom part of the plant as well as the upper part. (See the picture where I have three different types of grow lights and notice how this one hits the bottom all the way to the top of the plants.) Also notice how this light is much brighter than the other 2 grow lights I have. The brightness of the light is adjustable as well as the ability to set the timer to 4, 8 or 12 hours. Assembly - while the cord connected all three sections, you had to screw in the three segments, then screw in the 3-legged stand...simply and easy...and used minimal space! This important for those who have limited floor space. I'm very pleased with this light. Overall, I give it a rare five stars!
This light has great color. We've had other grow lights, but the color ends up being more in the 4000K color in not pleasant to look at a thought they are all supposed to be full spectrum. These on the other hand, have a great color to look at and plants look great under it. Picture: On the right side, the Dommia light compared to another full spectrum light... Much nicer warm light and no blueish tint. Great lamp.
This product is great if you need something like right now and don’t want to spend a million dollars on the really nice ones. I love that the wire is very long and can reach a far away outlet if need be. I also appreciate that the fixture is adjustable. It provides a good amount of extra light for my plants that are near a northeast facing window that doesn’t produce much light on overcast days. I ended up buying 2 more, so highly recommend.
