   I received this ballast quickly with no issues. My mechanic installed it and my headlight worked fine for several months. At the 10-11 month time frame, I noticed my same headlight was not working again. I was sure it was my bulb that went out this time. To be sure, I swapped bulbs from one side to the other. To my surprise, both bulbs were fine. The new ballast was dead. There was no water, or moisture in my light assembly. Luckily, the seller sent out a new ballast at no charge, which I received today. Hopefully, this one will last longer. Unfortunately, I have to pay my mechanic all over again for his labor. Not good. Would have been cheaper to buy the original Toyota part and pay a single labor charge.

   Great working ballast for my 08 Prius. Listen, when trying to get the new ballast in, if you unscrew lefty loosy the arrowed plastic screw on the light adjuster (see pic)it will come.out and you can easily push the new ballast connector through the hole and then simply screw it right tighty back on in original position. Easy easy reinstall. And I’m a mom of 4. 👍

   I want to express that the product does work great once installed, but getting it that way is a little strange. In the package, it comes fully together, but this doesn’t fit in the hole for Prius headlights, which means you have to take it apart, fit the wire through, then put it back together. It is also not easy to take it apart, and you should probably practice with the old one if replacing it.

   I’m going to tell you up front- the install is not easy, and not for people that aren’t technically inclined. You have to take apart the connector at the end of the cable, then thread it thru the headlight enclosure, then reconnect/reinstall it. Not easy. And the bumper of the Prius has to come off. Having said that, this saved me a ton of money over dealer pricing, and it worked perfectly once installed.

   Pic is of the original ballast that had gone bad on the right side of my 2011 Lexus RX 350.

   I live in Canada. Ordered it on ecogrowhawaii.com.ca. Paid $67.99 (CAD) + $8.84 (CAD) Import Fees. No taxes. OEM product costs almost 6 times more with taxes included.

   This after-market product arrived in 2 days with Prime delivery, as promised. Had it replaced by my mechanic the next day. It fitted well as advertised and worked great. I watched the whole installation process and there’s no way, I could have handled it myself. Better left to the professionals. The plastic shield under the roof had to be taken off and the same with the front bumper on the right, which had to be dropped to the ground to access the headlight / ballast. Although it looked cumbersome, my mechanic made it look so simple.

   Hope this product lasts. If it malfunctions, I will leave an update. In the meantime, I highly recommend.

   This worked perfectly for replacing a busted HID Ballast on my 2007 Prius. Following the tutorial at PriusDIY, it was pretty a straightforward installation. It did seem to change the color temperature of my headlight on the passenger side slightly compared to the factory HID Ballast on the driver side(see attached picture). This ballast causes the headlight to put out a slightly warmer color than the bluish output from the factory HID Ballast on the driver side. Oh well, I’m driving it around as is until I have some free time to order another one of these to replace the driver’s side so I can get color temperature uniformity. Giving it 4 stars because of this.
